The General Prosecutor's Office announced today the verification of the sentence in Greece of GJKKO judge Irena Gjoka and announced that the materials have been passed to the High Judicial Council (HJC) to make the decision.

However, the Supreme Court of Justice, in its response to the media, clarifies that no documents have arrived, including the authentic decision of conviction in Greece of Irena Gjoka, accused of visa forgery.

" As soon as the letter from the General Prosecutor's Office officially arrives, it will be administered by the Career Development Commission at the Supreme Court, and then the relevant legal procedure will be followed ," the Supreme Court emphasizes.

According to the law, the Supreme Court of Kosovo is the institution that must express whether, based on the results of the in-depth verification by the decriminalization sector at the General Prosecutor's Office, Irena Gjoka is or is not in the conditions of being prohibited from being a special judge.

Special Judge Irena Gjoka, in her 2016 self-declaration form under the decriminalization law, denied having ever been convicted before. The decision to sentence Irena Gjoka has been archived due to non-execution. We emphasize that at the same time, the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SPAK) has launched an investigation into the case in question.
