Tragic train collision in Spain kills 42

Another person was found dead this afternoon by rescue teams in the wreckage of trains that collided in southern Spain, bringing the death toll to 42.
Authorities warn that the toll is not yet final, almost 48 hours after the tragic accident.
Search and rescue operations continue among the rubble and there is a possibility that more victims will be found, while many questions still remain unanswered regarding the causes that led to this railway disaster.
"Another victim was found this afternoon in one of the carriages of the Alvia train, belonging to the Renfe company," local authorities announced in an official statement.
According to media reports, the investigation is focused on suspicions of a defect in the railway infrastructure, specifically a damaged connection of the line, which may have played a key role in the accident. The competent authorities are continuing their investigations to determine the responsibilities and exact causes of the incident.
