Tax authorities raid real estate agencies in Tirana without warning, seize computers

Tax authorities have seized several computers in several real estate agencies, during controls carried out in recent days as part of investigations into tax evasion in the construction sector.

According to the official announcement, the actions were carried out by the Tax Investigation structures, in implementation of the Sectoral Construction Plan. The controls focused on real estate agencies and included the verification of financial documentation and employment relations.

The Tax Administration announced that controls were carried out in 9 real estate agencies, where violations related to the failure to declare employees, failure to reflect real salaries, and suspicions of tax evasion in the sale prices of apartments were found.

" From the data obtained from the computer units, it appears that there are suspicions of tax evasion in the sale prices of apartments ," the Taxes announcement states.
