Plane departing from Pristina skids off runway at Istanbul airport

The Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Turkey has announced that an air incident occurred today at "Sabiha Gokcen" Airport in Istanbul, where an airplane operated by the AJet company, a Boeing 737-800, skidded off the runway immediately after landing.

The aircraft that made the Pristina-Istanbul flight, with number TKJ76Q / VF102, after touching down on the runway, deviated from the taxiway and stopped at the edge of the runway.

According to official information, all passengers were evacuated safely, descending via external stairs, without the need to use emergency slides. No injuries were reported, while passengers continued their journey from the airport to their respective destinations.

In a statement, the AJet company confirmed that the plane made a regular landing, but while moving on the taxiway, it came out on soft terrain due to heavy rainfall that affected the area.
