London gives SPAK the "green light" to extradite arms trafficker from

One of the individuals wanted by SPAK on suspicion of involvement in arms trafficking from Albania to England has lost the battle to block his extradition.

According to Westminster Magistrate Court documents seen by Top Channel journalist Muhamed Veliu, the green light has been given for Alban Gjidiaj's extradition to Albania, following legal cooperation between the CPS, the British Crown Prosecution Service and the Directorate for External Relations at the Ministry of Justice, Tirana.

The judge in the case has already forwarded the decision to the Secretary of State for Home Affairs, who will sign the final extradition order.

Meanwhile, according to court documents, Alban Gjidiaj will continue his conditional release after a monetary guarantee of 5 thousand pounds, electronic monitoring, including reporting every Friday to the Colindale police station.

A year ago, Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with its British counterparts, located in London the wanted man with an arrest warrant issued by SPAK, Alban Gjidiaj.

As Top Channel reported when Gjidiaj was arrested, he was accused of involvement in an international conspiracy to traffic weapons to Great Britain.

Gjidiaj is suspected of being part of a structured criminal group that planned to transport eight firearms and a significant amount of ammunition from the port of Durres to gangs in British territory./ Top Channel
