Iran warns US: Any attack on oil infrastructure will be responded to with US assets in the region

The spokesman for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Command responded to threats from Donald Trump, who had warned that the US could strike Iran's energy infrastructure on Kharg Island if ships were prevented from passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the Iranian spokesman, any attack on Iran's oil, economic and energy infrastructure would cause the destruction of all similar facilities related to the United States of America in the region.
He stressed: “Warning to the aggressive and defeated regime of the United States: in the event of an attack on the oil, economic and energy infrastructure of the Islamic Republic of Iran, all oil, economic and energy infrastructure belonging to oil companies throughout the region that have American shares or cooperate with the United States will be destroyed and turned into a pile of ashes.”
The statement comes at a time when tensions in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz have increased, as the US and Iran have exchanged warnings and threats over operations in the region.
