Conspiracy theorist Arianit Sllamniku arrested, sold animal medicine as a cure for autism
Kosovo Police arrested conspirator Arianit Sllamniku on Tuesday on suspicion of illegally practicing medical or pharmaceutical activities and illegal medical experiments and drug testing.
Kosovo media reported on Monday that Sllamniku sold animal medicine to several people, claiming that it would cure children of autism. Conspiracy theorist Sllamniku was detained for 48 hours by order of the Basic Prosecution Office of Gjilan.
Meanwhile, the Kosovo Police in Gjilan have called on citizens who have received health services or consultations from Arianit Sllamniku, and who think they may have been harmed, either materially or to their health, to report to the premises of the Regional Investigation Unit in Gjilan for an interview.
The Ministry of Health has reacted to this case and called on citizens to trust only scientifically verified methods and not fall prey to scams.
"The Ministry of Health has followed with concern reports in the media and social networks regarding allegations that an individual is suspected of offering medicines, presenting them as a treatment for autism. The Ministry of Health calls on citizens to trust only scientifically verified methods, which are offered by licensed health institutions and professionals," the MoH response said.
