Arrest warrant issued after drug investigation, Turkish actress returns to Turkey and faces justice

Renowned Turkish actress Hande Erçel has returned to Istanbul to testify before authorities after a detention order was issued against her in a drug investigation. Erçel, who had been abroad for studies for about a month, arrived in Turkey and immediately went to the Çağlayan Court, where she gave her statement to the prosecutor.

After the procedures were completed, she was sent to the Turkish Institute of Forensic Medicine for toxicological analysis. As per the procedure, blood and hair samples were taken from the actress for further examinations.

In a public reaction on social media, Erçel confirmed her return and stressed her willingness to cooperate with justice. She stated that she had learned about the case from the media and had decided to return to the country immediately to provide the necessary clarifications.

"Due to my education, I have been abroad for about a month. Last night, like you, I learned about the case from the media and I am returning to testify. I am a person who loves my country and trusts the Turkish state and justice. I believe that everything will be clarified as soon as possible," she said.

Investigations into the case continue, while the results of the tests that could shed more light on the actress's possible involvement in this matter are awaited.
