Sali Berisha appeared on the podium on December 8, 1990, welcoming the declaration of pluralism and the students' decision to establish the Democratic Party.

He greeted Ramiz Ali and praised him as a courageous man, who with the courage that led the army in the liberation battles, led the country in the new battles of democracy.

He then added that he hoped that Alia would remain a friend of the Democratic Party.
The students' reaction was harsh and Berisha was forced to interrupt his speech.

Over the years, there have been many accusations and insinuations that the people who founded the DP were infiltrated by State Security.

Something that cannot be proven, but we can simply remember with this video, that when the DP was founded, Sali Berisha publicly thanked Alia and asked him to be a friend of this party.
