Serious in Italy/ Apartment in Trentino engulfed in flames, 64-year-old woman dies

A 64-year-old woman died yesterday evening in Sover, Trentino, after suffocating from smoke following a fire that broke out inside her apartment. The victim, Tiziana Marchetti, was found lifeless on the kitchen floor by firefighters who arrived immediately at the scene.

Neighbors had noticed a thick cloud of smoke coming from the woman's apartment and immediately notified emergency services.

Despite the rapid intervention of volunteer firefighters, efforts to revive the pensioner proved impossible.

The Cavalese branch carabinieri went to the scene, working to reconstruct the dynamics of the incident and determine the exact cause of the fire. Local authorities have meanwhile called on residents to exercise caution when using household appliances and heating systems.
