"They found nothing," Jeffrey Epstein's last letter before killing himself in prison is revealed

A suicide note, suspected of being written by financier Jeffrey Epstein, has been locked away in New York federal court for nearly seven years.
According to The New York Times, the note was found in July 2019 by inmate Nicholas Tartaglione, a few days after Epstein was found unconscious in his cell with a piece of cloth around his neck. He survived then, but died a month later, on August 10.
Epstein had left the message: “It’s time to say goodbye,” according to Tartaglione’s testimony. The note was hidden inside a comic book and contained notes on the investigation into him, expressing disappointment that “they had found nothing.”
The document was sealed by a federal judge as part of Tartaglione's criminal case, which was charged with quadruple murder. This prevented investigators into Epstein's death from accessing potential evidence about his psychological state.
Epstein was officially declared a suicide by the New York City coroner, but security lapses at the Manhattan jail and contradictions in his testimony have fueled numerous theories. He initially said Tartaglione had assaulted him, but later claimed he had no problems with her.
Tartaglione, a former police officer sentenced to four life sentences in 2023, has denied any assault on Epstein. He says he found the note by chance and gave it to his lawyers because it could serve as evidence if Epstein continued to accuse him.
