Sali Berisha is already a blessing for Edi Rama and the Socialist Party. In fact, to be grateful to the end, Rama should issue a VKM ordering that every institution remove the photo of Ismail Qemali and place the photo of Sali Berisha… the spiritual father of the “Renaissance” 2013–2029.
I can't think of a more similar case in politics, where metaphor and imagery are so closely intertwined with reality. Literally, more than figuratively, Berisha has mounted like a vampire on the back of the Democratic Party, the right wing, and is sinking his teeth into it, sinking, sinking, sucking all its blood, until today the body of the DP knelt down and fell dead to the ground.
It has been since September 2021 that Berisha emerged from the shadow where he was hiding behind the DP and, like a vampire in physiological need for blood, sank his teeth into its neck and never left. He gathered around himself all the political figures who are not right-wing, but who adhered to the DP as party employees and sharers of the loot that that party snatched whenever it was in power, worshippers of Sali Berisha. He offered the country an alternative with figures whose ignorance was intertwined with servility, whose thieving was masked by connections to crime, whose disgustingness as partners of the oligarchs reeked even on their bargains with the power of Edi Rama.
Sali Berisha re-founded a party full of ignorant former police officers and thugs, with people who were once Nexhmije Hoxha's lawyers, sons of judges and prosecutors of the communist nomenclature, with former gambling directors in partnership with dirty elements of the SP like Ergys Agasi, with former ministers corrupt to the core, former prosecutors linked to crime and former judges corrupt to their gold teeth... and with a generation of young people who were the product of this moral and intellectual decadence: young people who were connected to the DP by family and tribal ties with a former criminal police officer and corruption millionaire like Agron Kuliqi, who admired models like Albana Vokshi and Flamur Noka, who aspired to careers like the communist who put the pickaxe to the churches and mosques, Tritan Shehu... who, while reacting with passion for the late Klodian Rasha who passed away in the Sharra landfill for Erion Veliaj's fault, they forgot the 28 killed in Gërdec by the same greed for wealth of Shkëlzen Berisha... like Belind Këlliçi who would defeat Veliaj by serving Shkëlzen Berisha with bowed head and adoration.
It sank its teeth so hard into that blessed party... it injected poison into it (these deformations of our society above), weakening it so much that the DP lost the local elections with a result as dramatic as that of 1997, losing the municipalities of Shkodra, Kukës, and all of Albania.
Endless excuses: "Berisha doesn't have the DP logo, so he lost" a logical absurdity, because if people thought that such a great injustice had been done to Berisha, they would mobilize more strongly to react to it.
He continued to weaken the body of the DP, never getting off its back and never removing the vampire's teeth from its neck, until Rama gave it the seal, logo and "plug" of the DP. It could not have happened otherwise: a vampire on the back of the DP was a blessing for Edi Rama. And in the 2025 elections he gave Rama a plebiscite victory.
Until today, it gave the final blow to the DP's neck, and its corpse is already lying on the ground...
An 82-year-old vampire, who no longer has the nerve to have anyone in front of him in the race for the head of the DP, neither for facade, nor for face and dignity. Why? Because Berisha is no longer fighting to win the race within the DP, he wins that race without a problem whenever he wants. But, just like a vampire who has sunk his teeth into a body and considers the corpse his property, and gets furious if he has to fight for it, so does Berisha get furious if someone still doesn't understand that the DP is his corpse, his property.
Who is Evi Kokalari, Salianji or anyone else who would enter the race to lead the DP with Berisha?! He has been riding on their backs for 4 years, sinking his teeth into them, and these people want to compete so easily, without doing anything "bloody"!
And just like the old vampire who “spawned” the vampire Berisha, Enver Hoxha, who liked to be called “Merhumi”, so to mock us today, Berisha decided to compete against a political ghost named “Merhume Saliu”. What a gem… what a find by Berisha!
