Two Englishmen were stranded 2 miles off the coast today in a sailboat without fuel, who were later assisted by the Border Police.
The sailboat was towed and taken to the port of Shëngjin. The situation was also favored by bad weather and clouds, which made it impossible to return to shore with their vessel.
"Border Police Services assist 2 citizens who were unable to return to shore with their vessel. Immediately after the announcement that 2 citizens were stranded at sea with their vessel, about 2 miles from shore, due to lack of fuel, the services of SPK Shëngjin departed with vessels towards their location.
"The Border Police Services located the sailing vessel and 2 British citizens on board, who were taken by boat and transported to shore. The sailing vessel was also towed and taken to the port of Shëngjin," the statement said.
