May 1st protest in Greece, Athens is "paralyzed"!

Mobilizations and protests are taking place today, May 1, 2026, in the framework of Labor Day, with the participation of ADEDY, the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE), the Athens Labor Center and PAME.

The joint rally of ADEDY, GSEE and the Athens Labor Center is scheduled for 11:00 AM at Klafthmonos Square, while PAME has called a rally at 10:30 AM at Syntagma Square.

Similar protests will also take place in Thessaloniki, as well as in other cities in Greece.

Disruptions in rail and urban transport

Public transport workers are participating in a strike with work stoppages and 24-hour strikes. In particular, rail transport ( metro, ISAP and tram ) will remain blocked throughout the day, as workers have declared a 24-hour strike from the start of Friday's service until its end.

Also, trains will stop throughout the country's railway network, including suburban lines.
