A serious incident occurred this Sunday at Reç Prison, where a Prison Police employee was raped by two detainees.
ZERO TOLERANCE TO VIOLENCE IN THE PENITENTIAL SYSTEM
At the Rec Prison, two detainees, A.Gj and FD, have exercised violence against a Prison Police employee, have violently opposed authority and have damaged property by destroying equipment in the institution's premises.
The reaction was immediate. The highest structures of the General Directorate of Prisons were on the scene and closely monitored the management of the situation. The security forces intervened decisively and neutralized any danger.
The injured employee has received medical attention and is out of danger.
IMMEDIATE MEASURES AGAINST THE TWO DETENTIONS:
Special regime – isolation for 3 months;
Criminal proceedings for 3 criminal offenses, in close cooperation with the Internal Prison Control Service;
Transfer to a high-security institution.
Any act of violence against Prison Police employees is unacceptable and will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
Criminal justice institutions remain committed to ensuring order, security and protecting the life and integrity of staff.
