Attack on power plants, US Ambassador to the UN: It is not a war crime

US Ambassador to the UN, Mike Waltz, has denied that attacks on IRGC-controlled energy infrastructure constitute a war crime, calling the claims "false and absurd."

In an interview with international media, Waltz stated that bridges and power plants linked to the IRGC could be considered legitimate military targets, emphasizing that the US sees them as part of Iran's strategic capabilities.

The statements come at a time when US President Donald Trump has repeated threats of attacks on Iranian infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, if an agreement is not reached between the parties.

On the other hand, Iran has repeatedly stated that its nuclear program has peaceful purposes and does not aim to develop nuclear weapons, while denying international accusations of militarization.

However, international experts have previously warned that Tehran's uranium enrichment levels have exceeded those needed for civilian use, raising concerns about its nuclear program.
