Euro 2016 champion with Portugal, former Roma goalkeeper retires from football!

Rui Patrício, former Sporting and Portuguese national team goalkeeper, has decided to end his rich football career.
The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) announced that the goalkeeper will be honored with a farewell ceremony at the "Cidade do Futebol" on Friday, December 12.
The 37-year-old goalkeeper, European champion in 2016 and winner of the Nations League in 2019, has regularly participated in major international competitions.
He made his debut with the A National Team in November 2010 against Spain and played his last match in March 2024 against Sweden.
With 108 caps for Portugal, Patrício is the goalkeeper with the most caps for the national team and one of the few footballers to have played 100 matches for the national team.
During his career, Rui Patrício has played for Sporting, Wolverhampton, Atalanta, Roma and most recently for Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates.
He won eight major titles, including five with Sporting and a Conference League with Roma.
At national level, he was a key figure in winning Euro 2016 and the 2019 Nations League, finishing 12th in the Ballon d'Or race, ahead of any other goalkeeper.
Rui Patrício will be remembered as one of the greatest goalkeepers in the history of Portuguese football and as a symbol of consistency and professionalism on the field of play.
