Belind Këlliçi clarifies messages published in the media: Sponsored attempt to smear me, I am pursuing legal action

The deputy chairman of the DP parliamentary group, Belind Këlliçi, has described the messages published in the media regarding some messages published in the media between him and former government official, Ervis Berberi, as a sponsored smear attempt. In Off the Record with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN, he denied having any acquaintance with him, but emphasized that this is a lynching campaign against him, which he will pursue through legal means.
"I have had official reaction to this issue, sponsored articles against me. I am pursuing the legal path for this case. It has been several months since you read my conversations with Ervis Berber. I do not know him at all, I have never met him. Zero," the Democratic MP said on Off the Record with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN.
Këlliçi also responded to the messages published in the media with his childhood friend, about which he said that they dated back 5 and a half years ago when he did not hold any public office.
"5 and a half years ago, when I had no function, I was arrested. I was protesting and was forcibly escorted to the police station and a joke was made about taking a protester to play cards. This is absurd and ridiculous. It was a communication during the pandemic and between friends we contacted each other to play ," Këlliçi said on Off the Record with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN.
Këlliçi said that he has focused all of his political activity on causes and protests, sacrificing social and family events.
"I have dedicated my time to causes and protests and have missed family and social events and activities because I have been at the protest. This is a banality of those who have staged it and who have sponsored a lynching and smear campaign against me," he underlined on Off the Record with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN.
The MP announced that he has initiated legal proceedings, suing for defamation the person who, according to him, distributed the manipulated messages. He also demanded that “every message be made transparent and public.” (A2 Television)
