Barça interested in Alvarez? The Argentine's agent puts an end to doubts

The possible signing of Julian Alvarez from Barça this summer continues to be revealed even though the 2026 winter transfer window is still open.

A few days ago, there were reports of a meeting between Deco, the sporting director, and the agent of Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Hidalgo.

However, Hidalgo himself has denied this. In the Barcelona offices, planning for next season is underway and interest in Julian Alvarez is on the table, but it is still too early to discuss any potential move.

Sportlive' reported that Deco and Fernando Hidalgo had been in contact this January, with Hidalgo expressing his intention to sign the Argentine to replace Lewandowski.

Speaking to Sayed Nabawy on 'Eram News', Fernando Hidalgo claimed that "it is not true, I have not met with Deco or anyone from Barcelona during this period", and sent a message to the Catalan club.

"Any club interested in Julian should contact the Atletico Madrid board, as the player is under contract and committed to the club." /Panorama Sport/
