German player "hits": Trump makes us feel not only German, but also European

Leon Goretzka, known for his opinions outside of football, spoke about the atmosphere in Germany ahead of the World Cup. The 30-year-old German midfielder commented on recent statements by US President Donald Trump, who threatened to take Greenland by force and described Europe as "weak".

"Donald Trump makes us feel not only German, but also European. Of course, I am aware of the political debates. I still expect the tournament (World Cup) to be a great experience, to promote football there and to show that many people want to see a very exciting game."
