Police action in North Mitrovica, arsenal of weapons and Serbian police uniforms discovered

Kosovo Police has announced that, as a result of cooperation with citizens, it has carried out another operation in North Mitrovica, where weapons, ammunition and other illegal means were found and seized.

According to the Regional Police Directorate, the action took place on January 28 in the Bërxhane neighborhood, following information that an abandoned house may contain illegal materials.

During the search, the police found, among other things, "an anti-personnel mine with a detonator", ammunition of various calibers, gunpowder, military equipment, as well as uniforms and shirts of the Serbian Police.

Due to the explosive material, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit also intervened at the scene.

The State Prosecutor has ordered the initiation of a case for the criminal offense of “unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons.” No arrests have been made, while investigations continue.
