Sad, former UBT lecturer passes away

Sad news came from the world of academia in our country earlier this year, as former lecturer Bujar Mane passed away today.

The Agricultural University of Tirana announced the news of the passing of Professor Bujar Mane through a note on social media.

Mane was one of the most important professors at UBT, as he was honored with the degree of "Candidate of Sciences".

Meanwhile, UBT has expressed its condolences to the family and friends of professor Mane.

Bujar Mane retired in 2011.

The Agricultural University of Tirana and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine express their deep sorrow for the passing of Prof. Dr. Bujar Mane, one of the prominent figures in teaching and scientific research in the field of Veterinary Biochemistry.

Prof. Dr. Bujar Mane began his academic activity at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1973, as an assistant in the subject of Biochemistry, making a significant and continuous contribution to the teaching and scientific activity. He compiled and published the work “Practical work on biological chemistry of animals” in 1978, as well as the textbooks “Biochemistry of animals” (1989) and “Biochemistry” (2005, 2011), which served for entire generations of students of the faculty.

The scientific activity of Prof. Dr. Bujar Mane included publications in national and international scientific journals, as well as participation in scientific conferences at home and abroad. He led the scientific work of aspirants for the degrees of "Candidate of Sciences" and "Doctor of Sciences", significantly contributing to the formation of new generations of researchers.

Prof. Dr. Mane was also an active collaborator in academic life, participating in the review of university textbooks and in the defense of dissertations. His scientific studies addressed areas of practical and research importance, such as subclinical ketosis in cows, metabolic problems in industrially raised poultry, and metabolic parameters of Salmo letnica from Lake Ohrid.

For his valuable contribution to higher education and veterinary science, Prof. Dr. Bujar Mane was awarded the degree of "Candidate of Sciences" in 1980, the title of "Associate Professor" in 1990, and the title of "Professor" in 1995. He retired in 2011, leaving behind a valuable professional and human legacy.

The Agricultural University of Tirana and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine express their most sincere condolences to the Mane family, relatives, colleagues and the entire academic community for this great loss.
