Law enters into force/ Influencers and bloggers who do not register with the Central Bank will have their accounts blocked
The new legal changes that have been published in the official gazette as part of the fiscal package now clearly extend economic activity to the internet.
Every person who generates income online from bloggers to influencers is considered a commercial entity and is required to publish basic data such as NIPT, entity name, address, and contact information on their page or profile.
But how will the tax administration identify them and what will happen to individuals who refuse to publish this data?
The change in the law on tax procedures has determined the way to be followed to control online economic activity that generates income on various social networks. After the official notification that will be sent by the tax administration, VIPs will formalize their work on social networks. These individuals will be identifiable based on the income deposited in their bank account.
"As a business, I also have this data exposed, starting from the name, address, data of the subject, and these individuals must also have it published on their social media accounts. I can say that there are influencer individuals who come to my office to be treated as a commercial entity, because now the businesses that cooperate with me are also asking for it, which in the end must have an invoice for the payments made. It is a previous request that has already been implemented and it is very good for everyone who carries out this type of activity to implement it, " says legal auditor Avni Tobli.
The law provides for stricter measures in cases of non-compliance. If measures are not taken to publish the data within 15 days of receiving the official notification, AKEP is required to block these influencers' accounts on social networks and apply a fine in objectionable cases.
The need for these changes was also dictated by the controls carried out by the tax administration. According to official data, only from the annual monitoring, about 100 profiles on social networks have been identified that in 2025 generated over 33 million euros of income, deposited in individual bank accounts. Figures that, according to experts, indicate a growing online economy, but also high levels of informality, which are now intended to be included within the tax system.
