Investigations into the sinking of the super-luxury yacht begin

The mystery of the sudden sinking of the luxury yacht Bayzian, owned by the family of the British technology tycoon Mike Lynch, near the coast of Palermo, where he lost his life, among others, has caused the Italian authorities to immediately launch an investigation.

Italian investigators want to first understand how the atmospheric conditions that are suspected to be the cause of the event managed to sink one of the safest luxury yachts in the world, which reaches a value of 35 million Euros.

Many questions are raised due to the fact that the victims were Mike Lynch and his most important people and friends such as Jonathan Blumer, the president of the large international bank Morgan Stanley, while the 15 guests and others on board survived.

Captain James Catfield of the yacht who managed to escape told investigators that everything happened so suddenly and quickly that no one had seen the storm approaching.

Other experts have expressed surprise to the Italian media as to how a yacht that was considered unsinkable was sunk by a sudden storm.

The number of confirmed victims has reached 6, after the recovery of 5 other bodies on Wednesday, while only the 18-year-old daughter of Mike Lynch remains missing.
