Musk attacks Europe again: EU is not a democracy, many politicians betray their

Technology mogul Elon Musk attacked the European Union again today through posts on X, calling European countries undemocratic.

"The European Union is not democracy, people power, but more bureaucracy - the power of an unused bureaucracy!", writes the owner of X, Tesla and SpaceX with irony.

He also reposted a message from another user, according to which 'the European Union is becoming an existential threat to European freedom and sovereignty.'
"Many politicians in Europe are traitors to their people," Musk added.

This reaction comes after the European Commission lost access to the advertising panel on X, after imposing a fine of 120 million euros on the platform for violating EU transparency rules.

"Your ad account has been disabled," X's chief product officer, Nikita Bier, wrote on the platform early Sunday.

Bier accused the European Commission of attempting to promote his post about the fine against X, taking advantage of a security vulnerability on the platform to publish a link that deceived users into thinking it was a video and artificially inflated its reach.

The Commission imposed a €120 million fine on X on Thursday for violating EU rules under the Digital Services Act (DSA), which aims to limit the spread of illegal content.

The violations included a lack of transparency over X's ad library and the company's decision to change the blue verification checkmark from a screening tool to a paid 'attractive' feature.
