"This is my flag," the network explodes after Musk's call to abolish the EU

A new campaign on the social network X is spreading rapidly in defense of the European Union, following Elon Musk's call to "abolish the EU" and President Trump's new national security strategy, which has shaken transatlantic relations.
Thousands of users from across the continent are posting the blue flag with the yellow stars of the EU, accompanied by the motto "This is my flag." They emphasize that the flag symbolizes unity, freedom, peace, democracy, equality, diversity, the rule of law, science and strength, describing them as the most important values worth fighting for.
Recall that the European Commission fined Musk 120 million euros for lack of transparency, while he responded by openly demanding that the EU be "wiped off the map." This has prompted strong reactions online, with many users adding direct messages against him.
Among the first to join the campaign was Jacques Attali, an advisor to several French presidents from Mitterrand to Macron, who wrote: "This is the flag of some of the freest, most peaceful and democratic countries in the world. It is also my flag."
A variant of the European flag with the Latin inscription “In varietate concordia” (in diversity, harmony) is also circulating in X. A quick survey by La Repubblica shows that the campaign has received thousands of supporters from across Europe, turning into a wave of pride for the EU.
