Maduro's arrest/UN Council meets urgently

The UN Security Council met this Monday afternoon to discuss the latest developments in Venezuela, where President Nicolas Maduro and his wife were arrested by US forces.

The Security Council meeting is expected to continue with discussions among members who have described Maduro's arrest as a dangerous precedent.

According to the UN, recent developments risk escalating tensions in Latin America and undermining the principles of state sovereignty and international law, while discussions are expected to focus on the fate of the Venezuelan people, who have been left without a president.

We recall that Nicolas Maduro and his wife were arrested two days ago by the US "Delta" forces on orders from Donald Trump, on charges of terrorism, criminal organization conspiracy, drug and arms trafficking.
