Escalation of demonstrations in Iran/ Von der Leyen reacts: EU stands with protesters, we condemn violence against citizens

Iran has become a "battlefield", for several weeks now citizens have been protesting, which has been escalating. Dozens of people have lost their lives as a result of clashes with the police. While thousands of others have been injured.
The Iranian government has reacted harshly, stating that it will increase repression. While police have warned citizens to be careful with children.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has made the bloc's position on the protests in Iran clear.
In a message shared on social media, she said that Europe "stands in full support" of those holding demonstrations across the country. "We unequivocally condemn the violent repression of these legitimate demonstrations," Von der Leyen said on the X show.
The EU calls for the immediate release of all imprisoned protesters and the restoration of internet access in Iran.
Meanwhile, the police have issued a warning, writes Skynews, regarding people who have come out to protest with children and teenagers.
"Given the presence of terrorist groups and armed individuals at some gatherings and their plans to cause death, we advise families to take care of their youth and adolescents," the statement said.
