Trump administration: 2.6 million undocumented immigrants have left the country

US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said that 2.6 million undocumented immigrants have left the United States since President Donald Trump returned to the White House, as a result of a new offensive against illegal immigration.
In a video published on the government's official account on the X social network, Noem announced that 650,000 people have been arrested, detained and deported, while about 2 million others have chosen self-deportation, due to the tightening of immigration policies and increased federal operations.
The Trump administration presents this figure as an achievement, emphasizing that November marked the largest decrease in the foreign population in the US in more than 50 years, thanks to mass deportations, legal pressure, and extreme tightening of border control.
However, this situation has also highlighted a structural contradiction. While the White House talks about "restoring order," several key sectors of the American economy are facing severe labor shortages, millions of dollars in losses, and difficulties in the functioning of activities such as agriculture, construction, services, and hospitality.
