Kosovo Customs announced that around 1 million euros in undeclared cash were seized at the border crossing in Merdare, which connects Kosovo with Serbia.

The discovery of this amount of money was made after customs officials selected a vehicle to inspect in detail. Sources for Top Channel journalist Dorjana Bezat indicate that it belongs to Aurel Kazia, a police officer at Police Station No. 5 in Tirana.

"The vehicle was initially checked through an X-ray scanning device, where the first indications of the existence of a suspicious modified space on its floor were identified. Following these indications, Kosovo Customs requested assistance from Border Police officials, who provided technical support through a fiberoptic device," Kosovo Customs announced.

"According to initial estimates, the amount of cash is suspected to be around 1 million euros ," said Customs, while the officer has been arrested.
