Tried to smuggle weapons and ammunition from Albania to Italy, 30-year-old arrested in Rinas

The Rinas Border Police Services continue their intensive work to guarantee the free movement of citizens and implement border control procedures, with a focus on preventing and cracking down on any illegality.
As a result of dedicated controls, based on risk analysis and police intelligence information, intensified with the aim of preventing any illegality, the Border Police services of the Rinas BCP, in cooperation with the security services at the Rinas airport, finalized the police operation codenamed "Security", within the framework of which a case of an attempt to traffic firearms from Albania to Italy was foiled.
During this operation, Albanian citizen HH, 30 years old, resident in Italy, was caught red-handed, on the way out of Albania, and handcuffed.
From the scanner check, 1 firearm, a pistol with combat ammunition, was found in this citizen's luggage, which was seized as material evidence.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana, for further action, for the criminal offense of "Trafficking in weapons and ammunition".
