The new Shëngjin-Velipoja road collapses, landslide creates problems near the village of Rrjoll

Due to the landslide, the roadbed has suffered cracks over a considerable length and is at risk of complete collapse on the Shëngjin-Velipoje road, near the village of Rrjoll.
Following the problem, a lane of traffic in the area where the landslides were observed has been blocked, as it poses a danger to drivers. The company that built this road segment has placed concrete barriers and signage along a 50-meter stretch of the road where the collapse occurred.
The Shëngjin–Velipoja panoramic road opened to traffic in the spring of this year. This 15 km long road segment is an investment of the Albanian Government worth 3.8 million euros, shortening the distance between the two tourist areas.
According to the data, it is the construction company that has the legal obligation to intervene for any problems that arise up to two years after the completion of the works.
