Italy/ Anti-drug operation: cocaine, cannabis and euros seized. 17 people arrested, including an Albanian

Seventeen arrests were made for drug trafficking and possession in the provinces of Bergamo, Brescia, Turin and Verbania, in an operation that also resulted in the seizure of 7 kilograms of hashish, 700 grams of cocaine and over 84,000 euros in cash.

The accused – ten Italians, six Moroccans and one Albanian, all with criminal records – were identified during an investigation launched in April 2024 into a large cannabis and cocaine trafficking network with a monthly turnover of approximately 400,000 euros. According to investigators, the center of the drug network was the municipality of Pian Camuno in Brescia, where the narcotics were sold.

The methods of drug distribution were documented in detail by video surveillance cameras installed by the Carabinieri to support their investigations. Buyers arrived on foot or by scooter in a side alley, where dealers awaited them hidden in bushes; the exchange of money and drugs took place over a low wall
