The head of the Albanian Road Safety Agency, Ami Kozeli, spoke this Tuesday about the catastrophic situation created by the collapse of the Librazhd-Prrenjas axis, which has blocked the entire southeast as a result.
In a press conference, Kozeli stated that the culprit for the road collapse, according to him, is intense rainfall and river erosion, forgetting the erosions made along the Shkumbin River by Rama's client company.
Kozeli further stated that after blocking the entire southeast and dividing Albania into two parts, they will now build an alternative road that, according to him, would solve the situation.
"The impact of intense rainfall remains, river erosion has led to an active massive landslide. At yesterday's meeting, February 24, the following decisions were made:
Construction of a new alternative road along the railway in the Shkumbin riverbed. Demolition of the existing bridge and relief of the load on the landslide road up to the construction of a natural escarpment. System and discipline of surface bridges in the entire landslide plan area.
"The Librazhd-Prrenjas axis is of strategic importance and will return to full function after securing the situation," said Kozeli.
