Scandal with violence in Fushë Krujë, the match between Iliria and Skënderbeg is canceled

The Albanian Football Federation cancels the First Category match between Iliria and Skënderbeu scheduled to take place this Wednesday.

The cause is the violence inflicted on Skënderbeg's players and coach by the opposing team.

The Football Federation announces that the 14th week match, Iliria–Skënderbeu, scheduled to be played today at 13:30 at the “Redi Maloku” stadium in Fushë-Krujë, has not taken place due to reported concerns regarding security conditions. According to preliminary information, upon the arrival of the Skënderbeu team at the stadium, it is learned that there was an incident between the players and staff of the Iliria club, where they are suspected of being involved in physical confrontations.

"Due to these circumstances and the security concerns raised, it has been decided that the match will not be played. The matter will be reviewed by the legal committees of the Albanian Football Association, which will make the final decision regarding this match," a press release from the Albanian football government states.
