"Salianji" Movement/ Journalist: Former MP sought a position in the DP after being released from prison

Journalist Ambrozia Meta said that Sali Berisha's list for the May 11 elections has brought problems and divisions within the DP.

Invited to the Quo Vadis studio on Vizion Plus, she said that Salianji is disappointed with Berisha because, according to the journalist, he has sought a position within the party, that of general secretary.

Meta stated that there are many MPs in the DP who have not campaigned, while mentioning Ilir Alimehmet as the most voted for, who did not manage to win a seat in Parliament.

Meta : The lists brought about a big problem, because the majority that had gathered around Salianji were those who came out with very good votes in the primaries and were not included in the election list. This raised great dissatisfaction in the DP. I think that Salianji was looking for a position after being released from prison.

Borakaj : They promised it and didn't deliver?

Meta : I don't believe it. He simply asked for the No. 2 position in the DP, the position of general secretary. It didn't happen, and that's where he saw the opportunity to come on stage, taking advantage of the dissatisfaction of the Democrats. There are also right elements there who are rightly demanding something. Alimehmeti, who came out with the most votes, doesn't have a position in the DP, while there are MPs there who haven't campaigned at all. I have my reservations about the timing and the way they did it.

Former Democratic MP, Ervin Salianji, started his speech on Wednesday afternoon from the city of Durrës, where he held a meeting with Democrats on the situation in the DP and the defeat in the May elections.

This has led to division in the DP, as Sali Berisha described the meeting in Durrës as Mr. Salianji's personal agenda.
