DP closed list, Salianji: Those who spend the most time in cafes became MPs

Former Democratic Party MP Ervin Salianji has criticized the closed list of the Democratic Party for the May 11 elections, as according to him, the candidates who emerged victorious from the primaries in several districts were not reflected in the final list presented by the party.
Invited to the show "Opinion", Salianji said that recent decision-making has destroyed the enthusiasm that the Democrats had built during the primaries process and that, according to him, the DP is losing contact with the base.
Salianji added that the DP structures have been demotivated by the lack of transparency and that 7 months after the elections, the Democratic MPs have not met with the citizens who voted for them.
Salianji: I have made a public reaction from prison. The DP list has deflated all the enthusiasm that the arrival of Chris LaCivita created. Do you want me to tell you what the problem was, that we are not saying, that they are not saying it openly, clearly and bluntly. I am expressing the concerns of the Democrats. They held primaries, it was decided that the candidates for MP would be elected through primaries, was the first MP from Tirana elected? No.
Was the one who came out first in Dibër, in Kukës, in Elbasan elected? No. Was the lady who came out first in Fier elected as an MP? You don't have these on either the open or closed list.
What was the criterion for being an MP? Who spends more time in the cafe, or who spends more time in the office? If you found a principle, they agree. I think this is the problem. Do we set the criteria as votes, or the responsibility that the leadership has to decide them. Who decided the alliances? Did I react right there? Everyone who was in the race reacted, they went public. They said that I got the votes. Some of my mother, some of my stepmother.
We come to an element that is essential, the structure is demotivated when we say one thing and do another. I will say it openly. Is it possible for a political party to avoid meeting people who have been divided to collect votes. The structure has not met one. Have you seen them hold any meetings where I was in Durrës 7 months after the elections? None have.
