"DP has good figures, but they don't deal with the essence", Shehaj: "The elephant in the room" is Sali Berisha

The Chairman of the Opportunity Party, Agron Shehaj, invited to the show "Kjo Javë" on News24 , spoke openly about the situation within the Democratic Party and its challenges to return as a credible political force. He emphasized that the main problem that the DP avoids addressing remains the figure of Sali Berisha.

"The elephant in the room in the DP that needs to be addressed is Sali Berisha, whether they like it or not," said Shehaj.

According to him, the fault lies not with the grassroots structures or local leaders, but with the lack of will to deal with the essential issue that is holding the party's political recovery hostage.

"It's not the fault of a section leader in a village in Albania. This is not the essence. There are many good figures in the DP, but I'm sorry that they don't deal with the essence."

Shehaj also indicated that his last communication with Sali Berisha was when he left the DP, implying that political relations between them have been severed since that time.
