Alcaraz made tennis history today. The Spaniard defeated Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open final and now, at the age of 22 years and 272 days, completed his Grand Slam career.
All four Grand Slam tournaments had previously been won by another Spaniard, Rafael Nadal. The latter achieved this feat at the age of 24.
Alkaraz came through in a set upset, losing the first 2-6. He then won 6-2, 6-3 and 7-5. He won his first Australian Open title after three hours of four sets.
The "Australian Open", "French Open" (Roland Garros), "Wimbledon" and "US Open" mean that Alkaraz already has a historic achievement.
