Dozens of vehicles have been left stranded in traffic, including children and the elderly, who are facing difficult conditions due to low temperatures and long waits.
"We have been waiting for over an hour and a half. We were not here when it happened because we were 500 meters away. We asked what happened and they told us that the mountain had collapsed. We come from Tirana and are going to Macedonia. No one has explained anything. We just see the trucks coming and going. We want the road to be cleared and we can go to our families because they are worried," a citizen declared to News24.
Meanwhile, an elderly man says they have to wait for hours, in the cold, even though they are sick.
"We have 5 hours, we are sick. I have been fooling the entire government. No one has given us any information. We are just staying here inside, because it is very cold outside," he said.
