Salianji: Berisha an obstacle to the DP's victory!

Former MP Ervin Salianji commented on the situation within the Democratic Party and the role of leadership in its electoral results.
Invited to Ora News, he stated that in a system where the party leader has a decisive role in the lists and the political offer, the figure of the leader is the main factor that influences the vote.
According to him, any attempt at internal change remains insufficient if the party's leadership does not change.
"Any movement within the Democratic Party is insufficient if Sali Berisha remains chairman. The leader withdraws or leaves the party," he said.
Salianji said that Berisha, despite his contributions in the past, has today become an obstacle to the DP's victory, citing political consumption and his relations with internationals and public opinion.
He added that the same team that has lost elections since 2013 cannot deliver a different result without changing its approach and leadership structure.
Salianji also criticized the idea that responsibility for electoral losses lies with the electorate, emphasizing that if voters do not accept the political offer, then the party must change.
"You can't tell the people they're wrong. The people make their own choices, if they don't accept you, the party changes, not the people," said Salianji.
Finally, he rejected the perception that Berisha is necessarily linked to electoral victory, describing this as a myth created inside and outside the party.
