Serious incident in Kuçovë/ 45-year-old man injures police officer with gunfire

A serious incident occurred this evening in Kuçova, where a 45-year-old man injured a police officer with his service weapon while escorting him.
According to the official announcement, at around 19:00, the services of the Kuçovë Police Commissariat were transporting citizen ZS, 45 years old, resident of Kuçovë, from the Fier Police Commissariat to the Kuçovë Police premises. He was suspected of the criminal offense of "Disturbing public peace".
During the escort, the 45-year-old man clashed with police officer AT, 20, and in the ensuing confrontation, he took his service weapon, with which he wounded him.
A police patrol immediately intervened, neutralized the perpetrator and recovered his weapon. The injured officer was transported to the hospital for medical attention and, according to authorities, is out of danger.
During the physical search of the 45-year-old, police found a quantity of narcotics, suspected to be cocaine, hidden in his body.
Meanwhile, the investigative group and the Police Supervision Agency, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, are working to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident, as well as to verify the procedures followed during the escort by the police patrol.
