Why is Ilir Meta forced to remove Monika Kryemadhi from the party?

The chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, is expected to expel his wife Monika Kryemadhi from the leadership structures of the Freedom Party with a proposal for changes to the statute.

The decision comes after several moves that have caused chaos in the Freedom Party, as the former president has been the center of criticism at party meetings.

Meanwhile, Kryemadhi, being the subject of an asset investigation by SPAK, has refused to be removed from political life, so Ilir Meta is making this difficult decision himself.

Speaking about the fight against nepotism in the party, Meta repeated the proposition that two members from one family cannot be in the leadership levels of the party, even promising to re-establish the Freedom Party, in the Convention that will be held on April 27.

"The statute will build this party with new foundations by putting an end to nepotism, by saying no to non-fulfillment of responsibilities, cacophony in direction and leaving room for alibis and excuses for those who do not fulfill their obligations ," said Meta.

He continued by saying that the party cannot have two leaders, because dualism proved harmful even for the Democratic Party.

Earlier, Meta dismissed several other PL functionaries, whom he identified as supporters of his wife, Monika Kryemadhi.

Monika Kryemadhi, who is under investigation by SPAK, has made several attempts to recover the mobile phone that SPAK seized from her mother, Fatima Kryemadhi. The latter was also in SPAK, as prosecutors have been investigating his assets for several months.
