SP shield for Balluk's immunity/ Swedish Embassy: Justice should act swiftly and without obstacles

After the Socialist Party refused to lift Belinda Balluku's immunity, the Swedish Embassy in Tirana states that they expect the justice system in Albania to act swiftly and without obstacles.

The response also states that politics is responsible for guaranteeing this process.

Sweden supports Albania's integration into the European Union, in line with the will of the Albanian people. A key requirement for progress in this merit-based process is the effective prosecution of corruption, including at the highest levels.

We clearly expect that, in such cases, the justice system will be able to act swiftly and without hindrance. The Albanian political leadership remains responsible for ensuring this process.
