War in the Middle East, Turkey begins talks with the US and Iran to end the fighting

Turkey is talking to Washington and Tehran in an effort to end the war with Iran, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Thursday.
"We have experienced the most intense moments of the war in recent days," he said at a press conference in Ankara alongside his German counterpart Johann Wadephul.
"The question is, what are the chances for negotiations, to what extent is it possible?" he added.
"This war must end as soon as possible... We are talking to the Iranian side and we are talking to the American side," he said, adding that in his opinion, the attack on Iran "is as unjust and illegal as Iran's attacks on the Gulf countries."
Since February 28, Turkey has been engaged in "intensive" diplomatic efforts to end the confrontation, Fidan said.
