Increased protection for Dumani and Prenç investigating Balluk/Braho: Growing pressure on former SPAK head

The Defense Commission of the High Prosecutorial Council has approved the request of the head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, for additional protection measures against the former head of the institution, Altin Dumani.
The request was submitted in the context of the growing pressure on Dumani, regarding several important investigations that bear his signature during the time he was head of SPAK, a task handed over to Braho about 2 months ago, after the end of his 3-year mandate. Due to the task that Altin Dumani held, he was under strict guard until the end of his mandate.
In addition to Altin Dumani, the same commission has also approved protection measures for several other prosecutors of the Special Anti-Corruption Structure.
Among them is prosecutor Dritan Prençi, who is investigating Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku and has requested the imposition of two security measures against her: "suspension from duty" and "ban on leaving the country".
SPAK prosecutors have been under pressure since they took office, especially from criminal groups, due to the files they have handled.
Previously, prosecutor Doloreza Musabelliu was taken into defense, following the testimony given by the repentant justice official, Artan Tafani, who stated that they were targeted by Laert Haxhiu, leader of the Lushnja gang.
Doloreza Musabelliu, appointed in October 2004, is a prosecutor at SPAK and has an important role in the structure of the Special Prosecution Office. She is one of the prosecutors who was part of the group that investigated the “Golden Bullet” file, where three justice collaborators have uncovered dozens of crimes over the years in Albania, which until now have been considered as unsolved events. Another file investigated by the prosecutor is the massacre that occurred in the center of Lushnja in 2017, where “life imprisonment” was requested for Leart Haxhiu and his two friends Anterio Kaloshi and Orgest Bilbili.
But also under guard are judges and special prosecutors for cases they are investigating and reviewing, including judge Irena Gjoka, prosecutors Adnan Xholi, Vladimir Mara and others.
