Lapaj: Corruption of high-ranking officials should be declared an act of grave national treason

The leader of the "Albania Becomes" Movement, Adriatik Lapaj, invited to the "Off the Record" show, has called for drastic measures against corruption at the highest levels of government, proposing that corruption of high-ranking officials be declared by law an act of grave national treason.

According to Lapaj, every politician who enters state office must be aware that they should not touch "a single cent of the republic," as sooner or later they will be held accountable.

He emphasized that real reform against corruption is not achieved only with procedural changes or investigative commissions, but requires strong political will and bold legal decisions.

"Corruption of senior officials should be declared a grave national treason, because it is seriously damaging the public interest and the future of the country. This is a real reform that makes politicians feel truly responsible ," Lapaj declared.
