Great Britain/ "Epstein" scandal, King Charles reacts: Buckingham

Buckingham Palace has announced that it is ready to assist Thames Valley Police in assessing charges against Prince Andrew, Duke of York, over allegations that he shared confidential documents with Jeffrey Epstein.

According to reports, Mountbatten-Windsor is suspected of sharing information while serving as the UK's trade envoy. Prince Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing in this context.

In an official statement, the Palace stressed that “the monarch has made clear his deep concern at the allegations that continue to come to light regarding the conduct of Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor. While the specific allegations must be addressed by him, we stand ready to support the authorities in any possible investigation.”

The palace also added that "As has been said before, Their Majesties' thoughts and sympathies have been and remain with the victims of all forms of abuse."

Recently released documents, including email exchanges from 2010, suggest that Prince Andrew sent Epstein reports on his visits to Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Another email from the same year appears to relate to the sharing of “confidential” information about investments in Afghanistan with Epstein.

The investigation is in the early stages and Thames Valley Police is reviewing all evidence to assess whether there has been any legal breach.
