101 MPs return to the Kosovo Assembly, only 9 new names in the new legislature

A total of 101 deputies from the previous legislature will be part of the new composition of the Assembly of Kosovo, according to the final results published by the Central Election Commission (CEC).
Of the 120 seats in the Assembly, only 9 MPs will be part of the legislative institution for the first time. Five of them come from the Vetëvendosje Movement, while four from the Serbian List, Kosovo media write.
According to the results, the Vetëvendosje Movement secured 53 mandates, the Democratic Party of Kosovo 22, the Democratic League of Kosovo 18, and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo 7 mandates.
Of the MPs from the previous legislature, 48 from Vetëvendosje managed to be re-elected, 19 from PDK, 15 from LDK and 6 from the Alliance.
For the first time in the Assembly from the ranks of Vetëvendosje will be Osman Musliu, Arton Konushevci, Armend Baloku, Krenare Çerkini and Valon Peci. Meanwhile, the Serbian List brings four new names to parliamentary representation.
Several well-known political figures who were not part of the last legislature are also returning to the Assembly. Jakup Nura, Altin Krasniqi and Rrustem Mustafa have won a mandate again from the PDK. Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, Arben Gashi and Paris Guri are returning from the LDK, while Ardian Gjini and Teuta Haxhiu are returning from the Alliance. Fikrim Damka and Albert Kinolli are also returning among the community representatives.
On the other hand, 31 MPs from the previous legislature who ran in the June 7 elections failed to secure a new mandate. Vetëvendosje has the largest number of MPs who remained outside the Assembly, although some of them may return if the elected MPs are appointed ministers in the next government.
In terms of individual votes, Albin Kurti is the most voted MP in the country with over 324 thousand votes. He is followed by Glauk Konjufca with over 264 thousand votes and Albulena Haxhiu with around 165 thousand votes.
In PDK, the most voted is Bedri Hamza with over 126 thousand votes, followed by Përparim Gruda and Arian Tahiri. In LDK, the list is headed by Vjosa Osmani with over 92 thousand votes, followed by Lumir Abdixhiku and Doarsa Kica-Xhelili. While in the Alliance, the most voted is Ardian Gjini, followed by Ramush Haradinaj and Daut Haradinaj.
The new composition of the Assembly is expected to begin procedures for the constitution of institutions and the formation of the new government in the coming weeks.
