WHO: How much sugar should you add to coffee, the recommended daily amount

Industrial sugar is one of the most problematic ingredients for every person's daily regimen. It is known as the main enemy of diets because of the large amount of calories it provides to the body. It is not without purpose that it is one of the most attacked foods as it is linked to many diseases such as diabetes, obesity and heart disease.
How much sugar should adults consume
Unfortunately, there is no exact answer to this, as the amount can be different for each person. However, experts have reached an average level for the consumption of sugar by a person in a day. Men are advised to take in about 37.5 grams of sugar per day, or about 9 teaspoons, so a total of 150 calories. Women are advised to consume no more than 25 grams of sugar per day or 6 teaspoons which is about 100 calories.
How much sugar should children consume
In a child's daily regimen there is room for a little sugar, although it should not be excessive, because it can easily lead to obesity. The recommended amount for children in a day is more or less the amount that an adult can take.
Children aged 4-6 years are recommended to consume no more than 19 grams of sugar per day.
For those aged 7-10 no more than 24 grams or 6 teaspoons of sugar.
Above the age of 11, experts advise no more than 30 grams per day.

But how healthy is coffee with sugar and what is the recommended amount of sugar to throw in based on how much coffee you drink?
All nutritionists' advice comes together in one point: Don't overdo it with sugar! According to the data, for a small cup of normal espresso coffee, which contains 30 ml of coffee, the tolerable possible amount of added sugar is only 3.1 grams. Which means less than a teaspoon of sugar or a few teaspoons. According to various studies, a full teaspoon of sugar in a cup of espresso increases the percentage of sugar to higher than the amount of sugar contained in a glass of Coca-Cola. The same goes for Turkish coffee, which is usually prepared at home. Meanwhile, for a large cup of cappuccino, which contains 25 ml of coffee and 85 ml of milk, the tolerable possible amount of added sugar is only 7 grams. Which means less than two teaspoons of sugar.
The World Health Organization recommends an amount of 25 g of sugar as a healthy daily amount. In other words, 6 teaspoons of sugar. But be careful, this amount is recommended throughout the day depending on the foods you consume including coffee along with other foods.
